Emergency Trenchless CIPP Under a Marble Patio - The Gulch, Nashville

A rental property in The Gulch had a failing sewer line, and the failure ran beneath an expensive marble patio. Prodigy restored it with trenchless CIPP relining in about three hours, with zero excavation and the patio left completely untouched, for an estimated $16,500-$28,000 less than excavation would have cost.

The challenge

The Challenge

The property's sewer line was failing, and the root cause sat in the worst possible spot: an offset joint where a PVC section met an older cast iron section, directly beneath an expensive marble patio. A prior plumber had already worked the problem, fixing one pipe, but missed the actual root cause, so the trouble continued.

Excavating to reach an offset joint under a marble patio would have meant tearing out and rebuilding the hardscape - exactly the kind of collateral damage that turns a sewer repair into a five-figure restoration project.

Our solution

Our Solution - Trenchless CIPP

Rather than dig, Prodigy diagnosed and restored the line from the inside. A CCTV sewer camera inspection located the offset joint and confirmed the real root cause the previous plumber had missed. After hydro jetting to clean and prep the pipe, the team installed a CIPP (cured-in-place) liner, creating a new, jointless pipe inside the failing one, with the marble patio never touched.

How we did it

Step by Step

  1. CCTV Sewer Camera Inspection to Find and Confirm the True Root Cause

The offset PVC-to-cast-iron joint the prior plumber missed.

  2. Hydro Jetting

Hydro jetting to clean and prepare the host pipe for a sound liner bond.

  3. CIPP Relining Installed Through Existing Access

A new jointless pipe formed inside the old line.

  4. Cure

Cure and verification, restoring full flow with the marble patio completely undisturbed.

Outcome

The Results

Completed in approximately 3 hours.
Zero excavation - the expensive marble patio was left completely untouched.
Root cause fixed (the offset joint), not just a symptom like the prior plumber's partial repair.
Estimated $16,500-$28,000 saved compared with traditional excavation and patio rebuild.
5-star review from the property owner.
